Yorkshire Feta

Yet another cheese produced by Judy Bell from the Vale of York. A gold medal winner at The British Cheese Awards (1996). The texture is semi-soft and slightly crumbly, but creamy with a piquant slightly acid and salty flavour, but not as salty as the Greek Feta.

Yorkshire Blue

Made from locally produced good quality cow’s milk, this is a hand-crafted blue cheese, with a buttery texture and creamy taste. A rich, altogether softer and more delicate cheese than the Blue Stilton. This blue cheese is made the Roquefort method.

Mrs Bell’s Blue

A full-fat, soft, blue-veined ewe’s milk cheese with a slightly peppery taste. When the cheese is young it can be slightly crumbly with a dry texture, but as it matures it develops a rich, creamy texture and a full robust flavour. Judy Bell of Shepherds Purse Creamery developed this excellent cheese, using traditional methods dating back to the 11th Century. At the British Cheese Awards this cheese took a gold medal.

Judy Bell of Shepherds Purse Creamery, Thirsk, has just developed this excellent cheese from buffalo milk, using traditional methods dating back to the 11th Century. The sharp clean taste quickly gives way to an extraordinary combination of flavours, unique to buffalo milk.
